PROBLEMS WITH THIS SITE / February 7, 2010

Anyone know why, when you first connect to this site, there is often an attempt to re-direct to another unknown site. Seems impossible to stop it by shutting down IE. The only way I’ve found to stop it is by shutting down my broadband connection. After I’ve done that, I can connect to this site with no re-directs.

I did send an e-mail to the listed contacts about this some time ago but never received the courtesy of a reply.

That is a known issue with Clicksor, we have sent emails to them about such issues before but haven’t gotten anywhere from that.
Best resolution so far would be adblock plus.

Yeah, I used to have the same problem – here’s the solution:
Dump IE and switch to Firefox. Use the “Adblock Plus” add-on option.
Also:
Check to see if your browser isn’t being hijacked by adware/spyware/trojan as well.

I always use my itouch (or iPhone) to view this site because of same reason. I copy and paste the links using notepad then email the notepad page to myself. Works like a charm. The itouch and iPhone use a mac platform. No redirection, virus or ad ware crap to worry about.

I use hotfile the most. Love it. Rapidshare is awesome too. Prefer hotfile though. Can hold 400mb per file. I think rapidshare is a max of 200 mb per file. I could be wrong there but oh well. Either one is good.

I agree about the Firefox with Adblock plus and of course run the Malwarebytes-Antimalware on top of that. All of these are free. I bought the malwarebytes though cause it stops the redirecting pretty good.And always download on a separate partition from my stored fiiles so that when I get hit with rootkits and malware -which this site and TPB are known for I can reinstall quickly!The free avast has a nice loud alarm warning also which is fun!

For all the people complaining about getting redirected on this site. I use firefox and IE and frankly i feel IE is faster on certain sites. And i never get redirected using IE or Firefox. I’ve never had a problem with IE explorer. Firefox is just better at downloading rapidshare stuff if you use it with Archview and DownThemAll. Archview lets you see whats in those RAR files before you download em!

Its 2010 kiddies. Do yourselfs a favor and pay for some good antivirus. I use Kaspersky Internet security 2010 and i never get redirected. Just enable the banner block option and your good to go. Plus the MalwareBytes mentioned earlier is not a bad combo teamed with Kaspersky

I ran into this issue also. But there is a simlple fix using VirtualDub. Open the movie with Virtualdub. Select Direct stream copy from the video tab up top. Then under the audio tab select full processing. Then again under the audio tab select the compression option and choose the AC-3 ACM Codec as your codec of choice and select whatever bitrate audio you’d like (the higher the better). Then from the file tab up top select save as avi and save to your location of choice.

Voila !!! Problem solved

@buff24seven…..the audio is synced up in a way that you have to enable the “do not fix audio discontinuities” setting under audio in the application menu of convertxtodvd….it will burn with the audio synced up then…..saw that info on a post for one of the other versions…good luck….as far as audio quality its decent enough…you could try tweaking it a bit with adding or taking away some from the original source….i did mine on convertx and it turned out fine
