    I must be missing something, but what’s the point of these BR Rips? If they’re resized to 480p, how are they any better than a regular DVDRip? Not meaning to be awkward, just curious!

    they are better because they use special filters to retain more detail than a dvdrip and the full 480p 720×400 (or equivalent according to ar) rather than the shrunk scene dvdrips at half the bitrate and no ac3
