You are never safe online, Even usenet companies will disclose information about their “USERS” to any law enforcement agencies if found under the suspicion of certain binary groups distributing illegal content. The only good thing about using a usenet service is:

1. You Can usually use the entire bandwidth of your connection.
2. It keeps your ISP from spying on what you are downloading once they discover a lot of bandwidth coming from your IP.(if you are a heavy downloader/uploader)
3. you download parts of a file just like you do with a DDL service, but lets say one part was corrupt …. Well, with usenet you can simply use PAR files to repair the
while if you use DDL service. your stuck begging for someone to re-up a missing/corrupt part of a file.

@17 But you are right, Usenet rocks for downloads and everyone needs to inform themselves and read up and learn how to use it.

@12 I don’t use torrents. They’re dead to me. DDLs are the way to go. I had rapidshare until they deleted it for downloading pirated content (as if anyone has rapidshare and DOESN’T download pirated content?) Now I stick with megashares.
The problem is not the size, it’s the fact that I’m on a DSL connection, and a 700MB file takes about an hour. 4GB is too much for something that I couldn’t care less to have. I want something and want it quickly, not 2 days from now.

I don’t have a prob with it. Even on 1.5Mb, if you download it and go to bed, who cares. I have a 12Mb and I can download 4GB in 45min. Get a Usenet account. Torrents are SLOWWWW!

@neXx – I’d prefer the single avi file of just the show vs the entire 4GB disc download. I don’t care about all the extras and shit that come on a DVD – I just want the program. I can make my own disc menus and everything else.
It’s not LAME if you don’t have the time or speed to download an unnecessary 4 GB file when you can make do with a 700MB avi.
