    downloaded it. burned it. started to “upgrade” setup fails, then virus protection starts screaming at me with random files on the cd. then deleted it.

    @5 – If you don’t have it yet, I wouldn’t bother just yet. (Nothing against the uploaders on this build.) The final RTM is theoretically coming around July 13th. No point reinstalling again in two weeks or so.

    this is a cracked and badly patched .VHD file containing the 32-bit edition of the operating system. I wouldnt even bother with this pathetic lame excuse for a release and I would shoot the lame ass school kid who assembled this.
    Wait till the second half of July for the RTM release.

    This does work as a standalone installation not as an upgrade. It uses the 7100 series loader and if you have a 72– series and above installation it will not work :(. I loaded this onto a spare drive and it works fine as a standalone.

    ok , now i dont normally comment on things but feel i have to . right i cant say about this rls but if you want to upgrade you existing install with this one or another rls without losing anything then copy the files from the disk to your computer then go to the soruces folder and look for a file labelled cversion , open it it notepad and change the top value to 7000 and save it . now run the setup from the folder on the desktop and select upgrade . now the upgrade will start . no problems . this will work on all versions , hope this helps someone .

    I can’t upgrade my Windows 7 beta to Windows 7 RC. I changed the cversion file to 7000 began to upgrade and after awhile I get this message (Windows could not update registry data in the installation) then it stops the installation and revert back. I REALLY would just like to upgrade because I have way too much stuff to back up just to do a clean install. I have to do something fast because my version of Windows 7 expire in 7 days (July 1, 2009). Is their something I can do to keep my Windows 7 beta from expiring so that I won’t need to upgrade?
