May I ask you a incredibly huge/dumb/basic/fundamental/typical noob question? Well if so, thank you. If not, well, no thank you I guess, I’m not sure on that one. I just simply want to know how in the hell one downloads console games/game files from wherever he may get them from, and how to get them to work in his xbox360 or ps3???!!!! Again, I realize this is dumb as hell but I have searched and searched and cannot get a definitive answer or even close to one. What do I need to get/have done/etc.? This actually is a question open to anyone who feels like enlightening a huge noob. I understand if no one wants to help though. I would like to play freaking Fight Night 4, etc. Thank you alll.

For the Xbox360, to play backups the process is to open up the xbox and plug the dvd-rom drive into a PC, then flash custom firmware onto it. This process risks getting you banned from Xbox Live, but it allows playing of backed up games.
If you login to #fw on an efnet irc server, there’s a lot of ppl there that can help.

You wanna download a program called abgx360, this will check all “backup games” on your pc for valid rips. Just make sure you choose level 3 in the options, choose your rip, and hit launch. This program will repair and patch to make sure it is a completely valid rip. Run twice to insure all areas get the green light (green text of validation). Once completed you can use any burning software (recommend imgburn freeware) and burn to a DVD Dual layer or double layer (recommend verbatim DVD + r dl). Now that you are competed if you have the proper firmware uploaded to you box 1.51 or 1.6 iextreme you can now play your backup games successfully

You two are absolutely amazing. Thank you both incredibly for taking the time to help a large noob such as myself. I guess I just have one other question which I am sure I will be cussed out by someone who hates noobs seconds after asking, but here goes anyway…How can you play backup games on a PLAYSTATION3? Foolishly, I should have included this initiallly. Either way if you respond or not, thank you both again so much for your enormous help.
