He is a member of a scene group – basically the groups that put out stuff on the net – music, movies applications etc – they are refered to as “the scene” and they are supposed to only share their stuff with their own members and other established groups. By sharing the stuff he gets access to (his own groups releases plus other groups stuff) he is going against the basic rules that they should not be openly sharing the stuff they get exclusive access too. Of course everyone leaks stuff all the time – that is how us average joe’s get all these scene releases everyday, he was just stupid enough to get caught sharing.
101, the scene is not public. P2P is disliked, p2p release rarely follow scene rules and p2pers in general rarely contribute to bypassing protection or providing source. placebo is sharing internal source with non-scene on large scale and as admin. Down comes the banhammer.

they’re talking about “The Scene” not scene releases, the site itself. 2 diff things.

What we do here is provide those quality releases without scene noticing. If someone gets banned leaking a new someone will take his place. Scene releases will continue to leak to p2p :)
