    Movies that are good stay in theaters longer to garner larger amounts of money (the average movie in a theater costs close to 50 bucks for 2 seats plus food& Beverage)…..As soon as its released on DVD a large potion of that money is gone due to piracy and movie rentals. Dont get me wrong…piracy is rampet throughout a movies life, but most people wait to get a quality copy of a film before starting to majorly rip it a new asshole.

    So….Your answer is The Almighty Dollar
